Tailored Support for Neurodivergent Children & Teens
At Autism Consultancy Services (ACS), we offer individualised, neuroaffirming 1:1 sessions designed to support autistic and neurodivergent children and teens in developing the social and emotional skills they need to thrive.
Our approach is strengths-based and child-led—we don’t force social norms or compliance but instead help young people build confidence, self-awareness, and emotional regulation skills in a way that feels right for them.
What Do These Sessions Support?
✔ Understanding emotions & self-regulation
✔ Developing confidence in social interactions
✔ Managing anxiety & stress
✔ Building resilience & coping strategies
✔ Navigating friendships & peer relationships
✔ Handling sensory overwhelm & meltdowns
✔ Improving self-advocacy & communication skills
Our 1:1 sessions are tailored to the individual, recognising that every neurodivergent child has different needs, challenges, and strengths. We take the time to build trust and rapport, ensuring each child feels safe and supported.
Our Approach: Neuroaffirming & Strengths-Based
At ACS, we believe that social and emotional skills should never come at the cost of authenticity. Unlike traditional social skills training, which often encourages masking, we focus on:
✔ Supporting self-expression & autonomy
✔ Recognising individual needs & boundaries
✔ Building strategies for real-world situations
✔ Encouraging connections in a way that feels natural
We work with neurodivergent minds, not against them.
What Happens in a 1:1 Session?
Each session is uniquely tailored, using a variety of approaches based on the child’s interests, communication style, and goals. Sessions may include:
🎲 Play-Based & Game-Based Learning – Using board games, role-play, and creative activities to explore social dynamics and emotional regulation.
🖍️ Creative Expression – Art, storytelling, and hands-on activities to process emotions and develop self-awareness.
🧩 Sensory Strategies & Emotional Regulation Tools – Identifying what helps the child self-regulate in different environments.
🗣 Social Coaching & Problem-Solving – Helping young people navigate friendships, communication, and social challenges in a way that feels authentic.
🌱 Strength-Based Skill Building – Focusing on what the child already does well, and using that as a foundation for growth.

✔ Kids who struggle with emotional regulation, anxiety, or friendships
✔ Young people who feel overwhelmed in social settings and need gentle, structured support
